Aiden Spencer is a senior associate in the firm’s Environmental Law and Insurance Coverage Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on complex insurance coverage matters and litigation, with particular experience involving high-exposure and long-tail claims. Aiden represents and advises insurers in coverage matters arising from environmental contamination as well as trafficking and sexual abuse claims, product liability, employment practices, intellectual property disputes, and other complex underlying litigation.
Aiden has substantial experience with long-tail environmental coverage matters involving historical insurance programs, multiple policy periods and layers of coverage, and alleged contamination spanning decades. His work includes matters involving trigger and scope of coverage, allocation, other insurance, and defense and indemnity obligations.
Aiden has also developed particular experience with claims arising under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA), including third-party civil liability actions against members of the hospitality industry and other businesses alleged to have benefited from or participated in ventures engaged in human and sex trafficking. He advises insurers regarding the complex coverage issues presented by these claims and has substantial familiarity with the statutory framework and developing body of law governing the underlying TVPRA litigation.
EXTENDED PROFILE
Before entering private practice, Aiden served as an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia, where he gained substantial courtroom and litigation experience. Since December 2023, Aiden has been certified to serve as an arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. He also maintains an active commitment to pro bono service and has represented low-income Philadelphians through Philadelphia VIP in landlord-tenant matters.
Outside the office, Aiden is a lifelong musician and avid distance runner, having completed the Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, and London Marathons. He lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife and twin daughters.
