ABOUT
Ms. Land is a member of the Environmental Insurance Coverage Practice Group. She specializes in environmental insurance coverage and litigation regarding long-tail claims arising from legacy pollution involving contaminants including, but not limited to, per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), asbestos, trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), and microplastics.
EXTENDED PROFILE
Prior to joining Langsam Stevens Silver & Hollaender LLP as an associate, Ms. Land served various roles in the immigration, public defense, civil, and corporate litigation sectors. As a student attorney with the Villanova Law Clinic for Asylum, Refugee, and Emigrant Services (CARES), Ms. Land advised clients on asylum, visa, and other immigration issues. As a certified legal intern at the Defender Association of Philadelphia, she represented criminal defendants in court at the Junita Kidd Scout Center for Criminal Justice. Her criminal defense experience further extended to the review of wrongful conviction cases as an intern with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project. In the civil litigation sector, Ms. Land served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Linda Carpenter in the Civil Division of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. In the corporate litigation sector, her prior experience included merger & acquisition (M&A), securities, and consumer defense matters.
In law school, Ms. Land competed against the nation’s best trial advocacy teams with the Villanova Law School National Trial Team, with whom she placed first in the region and fourth in the country for trial advocacy. Outside of law school, Ms. Land volunteered as a pro bono Spanish Interpreter with Philly VIP, where she translated communications between English-speaking attorneys and their Spanish-speaking clients in matters involving adoption, guardianship, and wills & trusts.
