Ian Johnston is a paralegal in the firm’s Environmental Litigation practice group. He supports attorneys throughout complex environmental litigation, including trial preparation and attendance in CERCLA matters, drafting motions, legal research, and managing court filings. He also aids attorneys in toxic tort litigation, through the filing and drafting of motions, and the management of court documents. He also assists the team with case administration and oversees client billing.

Ian received his B.A. in International Politics and Economics, with a minor in Russian from Middlebury College. While attending Middlebury, he worked as an Economics Research Assistant, analyzing historical firm-level data for Russian corporations in the late nineteenth century. He also completed Middlebury’s intensive eight-week Russian Language School, an immersive program focused on modern Russian culture, history, and language. He was also a member of the varsity swim team at Middlebury College.

Before joining Langsam Stevens Silver & Hollaender, Ian managed operations at a stud farm, raising thorough-bred racehorses in County Kildare, Ireland. He oversaw the care and feeding of more than 20 horses, 30 cows, and 15 chickens during his time at the farm, bringing a unique set of project management and problem-solving skills to his current role.
