Amanda L. Rauer is a member of the Environmental Law Practice group and specializes in complex environmental litigation matters, regulatory enforcement actions, and toxic torts. Ms. Rauer concentrates her practice in pursuing and defending complex environmental litigation matters with focus on contribution and cost recovery claims, corporate successor liability, diminution in property value, underground storage tanks, natural resource damages, and soil and groundwater contamination. In addition, Ms. Rauer’s practice focuses on asbestos related-injury and defense.

Ms. Rauer comes to the firm as a seasoned litigator having tried both criminal and civil matters throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New Mexico. She represents clients in all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts as well as administrative tribunals. Ms. Rauer assists and advises clients on permitting and regulatory matters and has litigated claims involving Comprehensive Environmental Resource Recovery and Liability Act (CERCLA), the New Jersey Spill Act, Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and other federal and state environmental matters.

EXTENDED PROFILE

Prior to joining Langsam Stevens Silver & Hollaender LLP, Ms. Rauer concentrated her practice representing lenders, mortgage servicers and financial institutions in all phases of litigation, including bankruptcy and appeals, throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey in state and federal courts. She advised clients on matters pertaining to enforcement of creditor’s rights, consumer lending, consumer protection, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and title claims.

Ms. Rauer also served as a Senior Trial Attorney with the New Mexico District Attorney’s Association where she was the lead narcotics prosecutor.  Ms. Rauer handled a variety of other criminal matters from misdemeanor to felony prosecutions, including lead counsel in a first-degree murder jury trial, resulting in a conviction.  Ms. Rauer began her career as a law clerk for the Hon. Valerie H. Armstrong, A.J.S.C. (retired) of the New Jersey Superior Court in the Atlantic Vicinage.
