Kim Hollaender, Partner, is the Chair of Langsam Stevens Silver & Hollaender’s Insurance Defense Practice Group. His law practice is devoted to the handling of a full spectrum of liability- related matters, including Environmental coverage and liability as well as Mass Tort litigation. Mr. Hollaender has extensive experience in the handling of asbestos matters as well as various chemical exposure cases, including but not limited to those involving benzene, lead, urethane, and metal cutting fluids.

Mr. Hollaender handles product liability, premises liability, insurance fraud, arson, construction defect, liquor liability, food contamination, and transportation liability cases. He has extensive experience in the handling of virtually all types of first-party commercial and personal lines coverages.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Hollaender has represented and partnered with a broad base of insurance companies on a wide range of topics. He has successfully tried a vast array of cases involving complex and severe multi-party casualty liability. Mr. Hollaender has represented insurers and reinsurers in complicated and multifaceted matters in multiple volatile jurisdictions throughout the United States and he has litigated cases in state and federal courts throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has managed the environmental litigation for a prominent New Jersey mutual insurance company for more than twenty (20) years and has extensive appellate experience as well.

EXTENDED PROFILE

Prior to enrolling in law school Mr. Hollaender worked as an environmental engineer handling occupational health and safety program compliance involving more than one thousand employees. In his capacity as an environmental engineer Mr. Hollaender had oversight for all discharge permits, waste recycling programs, water treatment operations, landfill closures, OSHA compliance, and respiratory protection programs.

Mr. Hollaender is frequently invited to present seminars across the country for organizations and insurance carriers on current and emerging issues of concern to the insurance industry. He acts as oversight counsel on matters of importance to the insurance industry with a focus on carrier guideline compliance, engineering and expert cost control and fee audits.

Mr. Hollaender proudly began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia where he gained invaluable and extensive trial experience in the Court of Common Pleas as a member of the Felony Waiver and Major Jury Units. He served as a prosecutor for the Special Investigation Branch of the District Attorney’s office and was appointed the Environmental Prosecutor for the City of Philadelphia before entering private practice. Since his passionate tenure as a prosecutor concluded, Mr. Hollaender’s sole practice focus has been exclusively dedicated to insurance defense and coverage assignments from insurance carrier professionals.
