Henry I. Langsam, of counsel, is a founding member of the firm. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1971. As a 1974 graduate from Temple University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree, Mr. Langsam immediately started work for a small legal services organization specializing in tenant housing law for the disadvantaged. In 1978, he started his own general private practice, which became Langsam & Stevens in 1995 when he was joined by attorney Mark Stevens. He focused on general civil practice, including all forms of business and real estate transactions and representation, coupled with sophisticated commercial and negligence litigation. Langsam & Stevens eventually grew into Langsam Stevens Silver & Hollaender LLP. Mr. Langsam moved from partner to of counsel status in 2016.
Mr. Langsam specializes in debt collection for national and local clients, while maintaining a general practice of law to meet the various needs of businesses and families. This practice complements and supports the firm’s Environmental Practice and its representation of environmental contractors and consultants. Mr. Langsam also provides counseling on corporate matters including acquisitions and divestitures.
Mr. Langsam and the firm are rated Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent®, a national lawyers´ rating service. He has contributed to his firm’s selection in Best’s Directory of Recommended Insurance Attorneys and Adjusters. Mr. Langsam was recognized as one of Philadelphia’s best lawyers in the 2015 Philadelphia Best Lawyers magazine, a supplement published in the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Wall Street Journal.
Mr. Langsam’s work is comprehensive and includes commercial litigation, real estate transactions, landlord-tenant disputes, debt collection, negligence, family law, estate planning and administration, charter school law, consumer law, and insurance subrogation.
He is licensed to and practices in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey state and federal courts.
