Catherine T. Begley

Catherine T. Begley is an associate in the Insurance Defense Practice Group.  Ms. Begley concentrates her practice area on product liability, premises liability, risk transfer, construction site accidents, construction defect, and transportation liability. Ms. Begley has been engaged as coverage counsel on a number of medical malpractice, auto, and property matters and has experience in bad faith liability and litigation.  Ms. Begley is a zealous advocate for her clients and has had numerous successes in arbitrations, hearings, and motion practice at the state and federal level.

Ms. Begley received her Juris Doctor degree from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. While attending law school, Ms. Begley was an intern with the City of Philadelphia Law Department, the Philadelphia Municipal Court, and the in-house counsel division of one of the world’s largest global banking and financial services companies located in New York, New York. Within the Temple Law community, Ms. Begley was a teaching assistant for Introduction to Transactional Skills and the Integrated Transactional Program. At graduation, Ms. Begley was awarded the Albert H. Friedman Prize for outstanding performance on the production of a research paper.  It concerned the Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the regulation of proprietary trading.  Immediately upon graduation from law school, Ms. Begley served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Paul Innes, P.J.Ch. of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Mercer Vicinage.

Ms. Begley received three Bachelor of Arts degrees in English, Spanish, and Global & International Studies from the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State. During her time at Penn State, Ms. Begley was a Paterno Fellow and achieved Dean’s List every semester.

Ms. Begley is a member of the Pennsylvania bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  She is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Brehon Law Society, and the Mount Saint Joseph Academy Alumni Association.  Ms. Begley also sits on the Junior Board of Gesu School, an independent Catholic school in the Jesuit and IHM traditions serving students Pre-K through 8th grade in North Philadelphia.
